Hubby comes home tomorrow morning! The house isn't really "ready", but that's okay. It'll be nice to have him back!
Today was Puppy's birthday- he's two years old. I remember when he was so out of control and hyper as a puppy!
Dinner tonight was very yummy- I had the waldorf salad and tiramisu, and it was delicious. The wardroom wives are so great. I feel lucky to be part of that group, because the stereotypes of navy wives are rooted in reality- loud, crass, trashy, etc. Just about all of these women are nothing like that, and that's rare!

Some thoughts
Well, here it is, my second blog. I've been a lazy-ass all day today. I didn't even get out of my PJs, which was rather embarassing when Hubby's friend stopped by, but whatever. I watched a little bit of "Bridezillas", but had to turn it off. These parents spend over $20K on their daughters' weddings, which is absurd!! Don't these women realize it's WHO you marry, not HOW you marry?? It just makes me so mad- I think being selfish is the most horrible trait a person can have. And second to that are the men who bend over backward for these women that treat them like dirt. And let's not even start with the spineless, indulgent parents...
To lower my blood pressure, I watched Sesame Street and forgot how awesome that show is. It's actually really funny for adults, too- there was some humor that kids clearly wouldn't get. LB seemed pretty into the Cookie Monster- like mother, like son. :) It was on TV yesterday and realized that he was fascinated by it. We were at a playdate yesterday, although the kids didn't really play with each other, haha. I think it was more of a playdate for the mommies!
I made some strawberry cupcakes today. They turned out very yummy- I will have to share with friends and the neighborhood kiddies so I don't end up eating all of them. I'll be meeting some wardroom wives tomorrow for dinner, so I'll bring some with me. That will also provide some fodder for my next post tomorrow. Also, it's Puppy's 2nd birthday tomorrow!
Lately I've been dying to paint the walls in our house to give it a little color, but I'm not willing to paint them white again once we leave next year. I suppose my creative side will have to wait.
...Hmm, after re-reading this post, I think I sound like a Martha Stewart-wannabe....

First post
So here is my new blog. Just want to see if I can actually keep this up. Here's a little about me: I'm a Navy wife and a new mom. Both of these take up the majority of my time! Even though Hubby makes the money, I'm the one running the household. :) Once the kids are in school (yes, there will be one more someday), I'll go back to my career as a music teacher. I'm originally from NH, and I miss it every time we move, especially the further away we move. Someday, I'd like to settle down in the same house in the same town for years on end, like my parents did. In the little spare time I have, I am researching my family tree, working on Hubby's navy scrapbook, and learning how to become a sous chef. Okay, maybe not a sous chef, but I'm trying to step up my cooking from mac and cheese with hotdogs. I'm actually doing pretty well, but it's a work in progress. I'm a sucker for girly stuff, but I don't consider myself a girly girl. I am thankful that the wardroom wives are normal people. I actually like to clean the house- however, I despise cleaning the bathroom. I have an adorable black lab / terrier mix dog who loves people and is petrified of brown paper bags. I am a klutz a lot of the time, yet I can pull of ninja-quick reflexes sometimes. I love to learn but hate school. Hubby and I will be auditioning for Wheel of Fortune next month, something I've been dying to do.
