Milspouse Friday Fill-in #33

  1. During military separations (whether short or long) how do you keep yourself positive and motivated? submitted by Married/Single Parent
I email / write / call my husband every single day, just to let him know how we're doing.  It makes me (and him) feel like he's not missing out on everything.  The guys in his division used to joke that they knew when communication was down if he hadn't heard from me!
  2. What is your favorite concert you have ever been to? submitted by Young but Not (Completely) Dumb
Boyz II Men, in 2009.  It was Valentine's Day, I was preggers, and Hubby had recently deployed, so I went with a bunch of the wardroom wives.  So fun!  But I also recently saw the Monterey Symphony perform the Rach 3, which was AH-MAZING... then there's the Jurassic Five concert at UNH that Hubby and I went to, which was a friggin blast... wow, tough question.
  3. What do you miss most about your “hometown”?  submitted by A Florida Girl and Her Soldier
My family, the weather, the people, the big trees, the smell of the air, Dunks, my hair stylist, etc.  Just about everything.
  4. If you could run in any race, which charity would you choose to support? submitted by Wookie & Co.
The last race I did was for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  I did it to support my neighbor back home who had breast cancer.  I usually choose charities that hit close to home, so probably the MDA or the USO.  There are so many to choose from, and I want to help them all!

  5. You find out Willy Wonka is your father, what 3 course meal do you INSIST he create in that stick of gum?  submitted by A{muse}ing Mommy on a Pink Park Bench
I would immortalize my Spain trip and ask for: spanish hot chocolate, tortilla espagnola with a side of patatas bravas, finishing with a dish of crema catalana ice cream from Mascarpone (omg, best ice cream EVER... I swear, I could eat that every day for the rest of my life).

I miss pretty much everything about the 'Shire as well. Speaking of which, you've seen this - right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtube_gdata_player&v=9Yy8o1BeFaA

I also emailed my hubby every day while he was deployed. I would open a word document and add to it as I had time during the day and then transfer it into my email and send it off every night (I wasn't able to have my email open all day at work)
