Our furnace is not dead, thankfully. It was just so clogged and gross that it stopped functioning properly.
Nasty.
Hubby broke down and called someone. They came to check it out today and some differential pressure pigtail (whatever the hell that is...) was gunked and not working. They cleaned it and checked the rest of the components out, and....
...now we have heat! And enough hot water for me to shave my legs! Woo hoo!
I will stop boring you all with updates on my furnace (really, Larissa? Updates on a furnace? LAME.), but I just wanted to share my good news.

Woohoo! I'm so glad you have heat and hot water again, and that it was a relatively quick and simple fix. Enjoy your renewed warmth!
not lame! last winter we were without hot water for 2 weeks (though we did have heat) so i totally feel your pain. yay for heat and hot water!!! :)
