Karma's a bitch... no, really.

I am a general believer in you get what you deserve.  However, it seems like karma is completely upside down lately.  There are days when I am definitely not all that I could be, and I still have an amazing, lucky day.  Then there are days like today where I reach out and try to help people and do the right thing, and I still get sh!t on.

Hm.  What's going on?  Is karma perceiving my niceties as vessels for ulterior motives??  Because that's not the case.  Or maybe the stupid stuff I have to endure is not all that bad, and I'm just blowing it out of proportion?  Possibly, but I don't think so.  I think there are just good days and bad days and you have to roll with it.

Sometimes when I'm having a bad day, I just give up.  Defeatist, I know.  But even when I do things to turn my day around, it seems nothing helps.  And it's much less stressful to not worry about what I'm doing wrong, and to just accept that sometimes lemons are too sour to make lemonade.

What do you think, dear readers?  Is karma a fair-weather friend?

Hmmm...I guess I believe it's not what happens to us (because sh*t happens to us all) it's what we do when the crap hits the fan that matters. Not that I live that way every second of every day. In fact, I was just whining this morning about people who are able to get away to sunny locales over the winter break...

I think maybe karma's perception of time is different. It's an overall ratio, not just a day-by-day one.

I agree with Kat - the timing of karma isn't always in tune with our personal timing. Plus you never know when you narrowly avoided being hit by a meteorite or some other ghastly disaster. Hope you have a better day today.
