The brotha and sista are here this week, hence the lack of posting, but since the house is quiet (save for two little boys), I thought I'd post this. Head on over to Wife Of A Sailor for more!
1. Do you set goals for yourself during deployment? What are some of them?
I always plan to lose weight and get into shape, but I usually end up pregnant, which is the complete opposite, ha. Then I revamp my resolutions to making it home to NH and back in one piece, physically and mentally. I also get involved in the FRG and plan activities that way. On our last boat, we were wicked lucky to have a good FRG.
2. What would you say to someone dating a military guy or gal?
Be prepared to be unprepared, expect the unexpected, and make sure all your pens have disappearing ink. Then give me a call- we gotta stick together!
3. If you have children, how do you prepare them to move to a new place?
I pack their suitcase. They're too young right now to understand what a move is and I don't think they really care that they're leaving their buddies. But when they get older, I plan on having them look up the state we'll be moving to (so they know where it is and what to expect), write bye-bye letters to their buddies and get their addresses in an addy book (so they can be pen pals), and still pack their suitcase.
4. Name one hobby that gets you through alone time.
Music. When we didn't have kids, it was work, too (holy cow, teaching kiddies gymnastics was the funnest job ever!!). But in HI, I joined the community band, and here I've been practicing on my own.
5. What’s the one food you don’t ever get tired of?
Wow, that's hard to nail down. Ummmmm, I could probably eat my weight in potato chips with ranch dip (not dressing, but DIP, made from good, 'ole sour cream), but I also love crab rangoon (from Lucky Corner) and chocolate. I could house some Hershey's, man. :)
